FICUS LYRATA BAMBINO
Ficus Lyrata Bambino is a compact version of the Fiddle Leaf Fig plant. It features large, violin-shaped leaves with prominent veins. This plant is smaller in size compared to its parent species, making it more suitable for smaller spaces.
WATER
Water your Ficus Lyrata Bambino when the top 5 to 10cm of soil feels dry. They can be susceptible to root rot so be careful not to water before the top 5 to 10cm has dried out and make sure all the water has drained away before placing back in it's decorative pot.
LIGHT
Your Ficus Lyrata will enjoy bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. Rotate the plant occasionally for even growth.
FERTILISING**Fertilizing:**
Feed your Ficus Lyrata Bambino once a month during the spring and summer season.
SOIL
Your Ficus Lyrata Bambino will enjoy a well-draining potting soil. Visit our soil bar and add perlite and orchid bark to a standard potting mix.
TEMPERATURE
It is important for your Ficus Lyrata to be in a spot with consistent temperatures. They do not enjoy being in colds draughts or sudden changes of temperature.
HUMIDITY
Maintain moderate to high humidity levels around your Ficus Lyrata. Achieve this with a humidifier, placing the plant on a pebble tray or by grouping plants together.
TOXICITY
Keep Ficus Lyrata Bambino out of reach of pets and children, as it is toxic if ingested. Wash hands after handling the plant to avoid irritation.
General Watering Tips
Place your plant, still in its plastic nursery pot, inside the decorative pot you've chosen. This setup allows the plant to enjoy the drainage and airflow provided by the nursery pot's holes, which are beneficial for root health.
When it’s time to water, you have two options:
1. Top Watering: Take the plant, nursery pot and all, out of the decorative pot and water it over a sink. Allow the water to drain completely before placing it back in the decorative pot to prevent water build up.
2. Bottom Watering: Place the nursery pot in a shallow dish of water and let the plant absorb moisture from the bottom. This method encourages the roots to grow downward and reduces the risk of overwatering.
Both methods help keep your plant healthy by promoting good drainage and root aeration.
