LUDISIA DISCOLOR
Ludisia Discolor are from a family of plants commonly known as Jewel Orchid's. Although they will flower is is their foliage patterns that they are known for.
WATER
Water when the top 5 to 10cm of soil is dry. Soak the plant allowing the water to fully drain out of the pot, then allow the top 5 to 10 cm of soil to dry again before repeating.
LIGHT
In their native environment they are a forest floor plant. Therefore they are best in medium light or dappled light.
FERTILISING
Feed once a month during the Spring and Summer.
SOIL
Jewel Orchids like a soil that retains water. Visit our soil bar and add Perlite and Vermiculite to a standard houseplant mix. You can also consider dressing the top of the soil with Spagnum Moss.
TEMPERATURE
Standard household temperatures are fine but keep away from draughty windows and radiators.
HUMIDITY
Jewel Orchids love humidity. Use a humidifier or a pebble tray to achieve this, or consider growing under a cloche. Grouping plants together also helps with increasing humidity.
TOXICITY
Considered toxic to pets.
