MARANTA KERCHO
Maranta Kercho with it's deep green leaf variegation is one of today's most common houseplants.
WATER
Maranta's like consistently moist soil, but avoid letting it get waterlogged. We find that little and often is best, but wait until the top 5cm of soil has become dry.
LIGHT
Marantas prefer bright to medium indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, causing the vibrant colours to fade. They can also handle low light but will grow slower.
FERTILISING
You can feed your Maranta every 4 to 6 weeks during the Spring and Summer months.
SOIL
Maranta like a loose soil for their delicate roots, but one that also retains moisture. Visit our soil bar for Vermiculite, Perlite and Coco Coir to add to a standard houseplant mix.
TEMPERATURE
As long as they are kept away from open winter windows and hot radiators normal household temperatures are fine for Marantas.
HUMIDITY
Maranta's like higher humidity. Group together with other plants or place on a pebble tray.
TOXICITY
Maranta are considered non toxic to animals and humans.
