MERMAID TAIL CACTUS
One look at the Mermaid Tail Cactus and you are reminded just how incredible plants are. These are a gene mutation that are very tricky to grow on their own, so to allow us to have these amazing plants in our homes, they graft them onto an easier growing cactus.

Your Mermaid Tail Cactus will enjoy bright indirect light.
WATER
Allow soil to completely dry out (and I really mean completely dry out) before watering. Over winter it will need barely any water.
FERTILISER
You can feed when you infrequently water, it will need not feeding over winter.
SOIL
As a cactus they need a very well draining soil mix. Visit our soil bar and add orchid bark, horticultural sand and pumice to a standard potting mix.
TEMPERATURE
Standard household temperatures are fine for the Mermaid Tail Cactus.
HUMIDITY
Standard household humidity are fine for the Mermaid Tail Cactus.
TOXICITY
Considered toxic to pets and humans if ingested. The sap can also irritate skin.
General Watering Tips
Place your plant, still in its plastic nursery pot, inside the decorative pot you've chosen. This setup allows the plant to enjoy the drainage and airflow provided by the nursery pot's holes, which are beneficial for root health.
When it’s time to water, you have two options:
1. Top Watering: Take the plant, nursery pot and all, out of the decorative pot and water it over a sink. Allow the water to drain completely before placing it back in the decorative pot to prevent water build up.
2. Bottom Watering: Place the nursery pot in a shallow dish of water and let the plant absorb moisture from the bottom. This method encourages the roots to grow downward and reduces the risk of overwatering.
Both methods help keep your plant healthy by promoting good drainage and root aeration.
