LIGHT
Your Philodendron Pink Princess will enjoy bright, indirect light for optimal growth. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves, too little light and you will lose some of the pink variegation.

WATER
Allow the top 5cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Then water thoroughly, allowing excess water to drain away. If in doubt whether it is time to water leave it for another day or 2. They are far more susceptible to root rot from over watering than being affected by forgetting the odd watering.

FERTILISING
Feed every 4 weeks during the Spring and Summer months.

SOIL
Philodendron's like a very well draining spoil mix. Visit our soil bar to add orchid bark, pumice and perlite to a standard houseplant potting soil.

TEMPERATURE
Philodendron Pink Princess thrives in average indoor room temperatures.

HUMIDITY
Your Philodendron Pink Princess will enjoy increased humidity. Use a humidifier or a pebble tray to achieve this. Grouping plants together also helps with increasing humidity.

TOXICITY
Philodendron's are toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and pets, and consider placing it in a location where curious pets cannot access it.

General Watering Tips

Place your plant, still in its plastic nursery pot, inside the decorative pot you've chosen. This setup allows the plant to enjoy the drainage and airflow provided by the nursery pot's holes, which are beneficial for root health.

When it’s time to water, you have two options:

1. Top Watering: Take the plant, nursery pot and all, out of the decorative pot and water it over a sink. Allow the water to drain completely before placing it back in the decorative pot to prevent water build up.

2. Bottom Watering: Place the nursery pot in a shallow dish of water and let the plant absorb moisture from the bottom. This method encourages the roots to grow downward and reduces the risk of overwatering.

Both methods help keep your plant healthy by promoting good drainage and root aeration.
